Andy Bosnak’s lifelong love of music and years of studio work make him someone you’ll be glad to have in your corner when it comes time to record. The perfect ally in a recording session, he’ll help you build a great-sounding finished product while you stay true to your own artistic vision. A Kansas City native, Andy played in KC-area rock bands and attended Kansas State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Science in 1993. He graduated from the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in 1997 and worked at Mercy Recording Studio in Lawrence, Kansas before embarking for Chicago in 1998. He’s a laid-back guy who runs a tight ship, keeping your session efficient without sacrificing any of the fun. Andy has made records in a variety of musical styles including modern alternative country-rock, shoegazer, punk, indie rock, emo-pop, jazz, lounge music, blues, folk, and beyond. He's worked on projects ranging from local to national, independent to major-label. He’s also worked on commercial sessions for blue-chip clients including Disney, McDonald’s and Allstate. This extensive experience gives Andy a keen ear and a drive for perfection that will take your project to new sonic heights. Andy helped John Humphrey and Jep Thornton launch Engine Studios in November, 1999. He has two children and enjoys cooking, golf, and field recording. Some of Andy's favorite bands include Manishevitz, Led Zeppelin, Centaur, Hum, the Jesus Lizard, Thin Lizzy, ELO, and The Beatles.
